Yes it was, yes it was. Funny how people don't know there asses from the preverbal hole in the ground. Sure the "hole is still there" but unless you download an image that had its file extention changed and then change the extension back you're covered if you do this. Again if only people kept themselves updated.

There is a workaround yes(although it limits thumbnail functionality). But what makes you think your link addresses the issue?

This is what you need to do to protect your system(It will limit your thumbnail functionality):

Start-->Run-->regsvr32 /u shimgvw.dll

regsvr32 - This command-line tool registers .dll files as command components in the registry.
