Bird bones are porous/sponge like or air filled to reduce weight and thus facilitate flight. The flip side is they break easily. Look at any bird that has flown into a patio door. Windshields on the other hand are designed to keep road debris, or in this case birds, out of the passenger compartment.

Not sure the Evo was going that fast though. Either way, that sucks for all parties involved.

180 Kmh is about 112 Mph granted that car should not be redlining at that speed but it just does not look like 180 MPH....

Yes, but the stripes on a runway are MUCH longer and spaced further apart than your typical highway lane stripes. So it's tough to guage just by looking at the ground.

Either way, they were going plenty fast, and that bird had no idea what hit it.
