Our local race track uses the quarter mile drag strip as the front straight away. Last time I was there for a bike track day, one of the riders nailed a magpie with his shoulder at the end of the straight away. He had it pinned in sixth gear, and hitting that bird damn near threw him off the back of the bike. He actually pulled over and stopped. Later in the pits he showed us his shoulder and it was the size of a basketball! Those guys are lucky that bird didn't hit one of them in the car!
