Default blockbuster - end of late fees - scam or good?

their website says they will charge you full retail price for any movie or game that is late by 7 days...... they put it on your credit card that you have on file with them....... if you bring it back within 30 days, and instruct them to give you a credit (in person), they will do so but still charge you a restocking fee.... which they don't indicate how much that is.

so...."NO LATE FEE's" = "RESTOCKING FEE's"

What a crock...... i would bet they are counting on lots of people just accepting the "full retail price" of a movie and keeping it..... american's are lazy and probably won't go back and return the stupid movie.

anyone know how much the restocking fees are? i would bet close to $10.00 just to make that a rip too.

I love the new BBuster 22dollar a month unlimited rental thing. If its available in your area.. its a great deal. Rent 2 at a time, no due dates. Or pay 5 more and rent 3 at a time.

Scam... no late fees but they'll just charge you for the movie if its not returned within 7 days and credit you back minus restocking fees of course.

movie charge/restocking fee = late fee

I have never gotten any fee's. I have kept movies for at elast 2 weeks before. Is that suppose to be the new thing? I have had the last 2 movies since i went on xmas break, about 3 weeks ago. If i get a fee, I will be pissed.

I'm pretty sure this doesnt have anything to do with the unlimited rentals program though. There is no due date... so how could you be past the due date.

Its not a scam either way it will be cheaper then your fees's woudl have been. Normally at BB, you would be charged like 4dollars for every day late. So, 10 for a week late would be a good deal.

Movie Gallary has a thing where they just re-rent the movie for you, that is the best one out. So if you are a day late, you get another 5 or 2, depending on how new the movie is for whatever you paid for the movie.

The lawsuits have made them change policies on late fees, you arnt going to see scams coming from them.

Given their history of not logging movies in and charging you for being late, I can see them "selling" a lot of movies. You, the customer, will have no way of proving you brought the movie back, you're SOL. And given how hard it is to get a new release there now, I can only imagine there's going to be a lot more empty spots on the walls.

good = how long do you want to hold on to a movie, and not expect it to become yours? I mean, why have a movie more than 7 days? And even then I dont think 30 days for $4.86 (how much it cost with tax here) plus a restocking fee.

I have no problem how they are now, I just watch, copy, return. Having the late fee makes me copy it quicker and thus helps my lazy ass remember to copy it in the first place (if its good of course).

Everytime I burn a dvd, the disc skips near the end of the copy and it starts acting terrible.

they have not said what the "restocking" fee is yet. it could be $2.00 or it could be $10.00.???

I see scam written all over this. I think a normal late fee is the price of the rental for that same number of days. So if it is a 7 day rental, and you get it back 6 days late, you pay 1 late fee.......

I will bet there are lots of people too lazy to return them and end up paying $40+ for "new releases".
