This is not a scam.

THe restocking fee is 1.25... thats a great deal

You get charged the full retail price if you keep the movie, around 19-23. But you can always return it and pay the 1.25.

Also... movie stores do pay around 100 dollars a movie to get the rental licenses. Back in the day, you used to get charged that for not bringing it back.
You work for blockbuster huh??????

NOpe.. i went in and asked a manager when i was renting movies.

They said they were doing it because most people never bring a movie back if they have it for a week past the due date. Blockbuster then doesn't have to deal wtih people complaining of a $30000000 late fee and they make there 22dollars plus the initial fee and call it a day.

ok, here's the deal. i have a family member that's a local blockbuster manager, and i asked him the details.

you rent a movie. 7 days AFTER THE DUE BACK DATE,,,,,,they charge the "previously viewed" (used) value to your card on file. NOT NEW RETAIL PRICE,,,unless you're the first person that has rented THAT copy. if you bring it back within 30 days, you are refunded the charged amount minus $1.25.

sounds pretty good,,,you can be late up to 30 days and all you pay is $1.25.

this is going to mean if you don't rent on new release tuesday, you probably won't see the video for a week or more.

you have to return the movie within 30 days to get the refund and then only be charged the $1.25 restocking fee.

you can call any blockbuster. the $1.25 fee is standard.
