Blood Donation
That was a stupid question..... Donate blood because it helps people. I do not donate as much as I used to. But anytime I hear about a blood drive on the radio or something, if I'm not busy I'll make my way over there.
I'm not saying the blood isn't needed by people, I'm just wondering about the for free part when the hospitals charge a literal fortune for it.
If we give it for free shouldn't they charge just a nominal charge for storage? Why should they be allowed to charge what they charge for something we give for free?

I used to donate just about every time they called, back in high school. Then I went away to college but they kept calling my parents all the time. Got ahold of me on a break one time, and I just told them I went to mexico last year. They quit calling and I haven't been back since.
No matter how many times my mom would tell them I dont live at home anymore, they would still call every 6 weeks or whatever. She started referring to them as the blood nazis.
Another story: My ex lived in Italy for a few years around when she was 5. She had always wanted to donate blood but they never let her. Finally, when she went away to college, she lied and told them she had never actually lived there. I guess she was really dying to give blood. Never understood that.....
