Default BMW X5 being recalled

Are there any X5 owners on the board? BMW is recalling these models due to a malfunctioning cooling fan. There have been some reports of fires.

That's a shame, I think the X5 is one of the best looking 4WDs around...

I wish they would aim their hid's lower. They come straight into the cabin and they're so bright.

Too bad abouth the X5, I think it's one of the most handsome SUV's on the road. I would happily own one.

And I third that about the Aztek...what can we do to get those eyesores off the road?

It's not limited to the X5. It involves 5, 7 , some 3 series (I think) and more. It must be a fairly universal part. The risk is stated to be minor and BMW is not actively recalling until they can stock up on the part a-la 2nd gear grind. But in this case its a 1/2 day swap instead of a multi day transmission rebuild But, then again [Frankenstein]Mmmmm, Fire Bad![/Frankenstein]
