I have never even driven a BMW, but.... in most of the Comparo tests, the BMW finishes first or second. The $31k BMW 325 4 door sedan was just first in C&D. it did a 15.4

The IS 300 is not 3K more than the 325i. The IS did contend and ended up third behind the Bimmer and the Audi. It did not have a manual transmission which is a major disadvantage for the Lexus. In 2002, we'll be seeing a manual.

BMW has been in this game for a lot longer and I believe the Lexus IS series is going to be a serious contender in dethroning BMW. Tough task.

And it is for BMW as well. Audi is coming up with a refreshed and much improved A lineup. BMW is coming out with cosmetic changes to its entire 3-series lineup next year. There's this issue with the new 3-series steering being too light. They're fixing this for 2002 and for all those with the new steering... they'd better hope BMW plans to retrofit theirs.

Beautiful car. That color would be awsome on the S2000.

The 3 series is miles ahead of the Lexus IS in performance and class. Doesn't the 330 do 0-60 in 6.1 vs the high 7's for the Lexus. The BMW looks really elegant while the Lexus is kind of funny looking and the interior is downright garish. I get a kick out of the Lexus commercials that state that the IS outperformes the BMW...sure.

This is coming from someone who has been a lifelong Honda owner so I definately do not have a bias twords BMW.

I'm deciding on the 2001 S2000 or the 2002 330Ci. Hard decision.

If it makes you feel any better, the Isetta wasn't so great.
