Default Bye Bye ATT Hello Verizon + Droid!

Hey guys i know some of you guys sell phones or are into phones; etc.

I just got the Droid. Im coming from a long history of smart phones (Bold, Fuze, E71, E73, N97, Iphone 3g, Iphone, Iphone 3gs; etc). I have tried almost all of the gsm smartphones. I have owned a lot of windows phones but no point in listing them since i absolutely HATE windows mobile OS.

Anyways i left ATT b.c i was losing too much business because of their shitty ass service. I mean im in a big dense market (Manhattan) and ive had a crap load of phones, and the service is never up to par with even Tmobile!! Lots of calls use to go straight to voicemail or no where. Or i just didnt have service. This is both in my office and outside in the street.

Well finally i decided to say fck u ATT and hello verizon. I mean when your service is worse then Tmobile's you know you have a problem lol.

Anyways, Ive had the droid for about 3 hours now and the cell reception is superb. I mean absolutely amazing. The OS runs pretty smooth and stable. The Touch is pretty good. Id put it better then most smart phones except the iphones. The internet is faster then the Iphone 3Gs' even while both have 3g service. I tried them side by side. Apps run pretty smooth also. The keyboard which many complained about is pretty bad but very easy to get use to. But then again i got use to the Palm centro's keyboard when that thing came out so i wouldnt take my word for it lol

To his or her own opinion. There are many phones that are coming out that they claim to be "the iPhone killer"... Honestly... as an iPhone owner I could careless of what phone that comes out that could beat it or not. I'm happy and satisfied with the iPhone and all the features that it has to offer me. Sure, the reception isn't good in some places but that's with every phone company. It's just so funny that there are soo many phones coming out that just "claims" to be better than the iPhone.

im just saying reception in Manhattan of all places is expected. And it is well documented that ATT has been consistently getting worse and worse cell recep. And jus FYI, i was an iphone owner. Ive had every single one, and multiples of each. The Iphone is an amazing phone. Its just a shame that its wasted on that network.

Well, everywhere I've lived (Seattle, Sacramento, and the Bay Area) Verizon's been king for reception. I'd say I end up making 10 calls for other people for everyone one I get... but honestly, that's very geographical. And that's basic voice service... AT&T 3G coverage is a joke. The minute you step five feet out of a major metro area, you've got zero coverage. With Verizon from LA to Seattle I'd say 80%+ coverage along I5. The downside is AT&T (when it's not overloaded and crawling) is quite a bit faster. The problem is, at least in the Bay Area AT&T is ALWAYS overloaded...

I think Verizon "poked the pooch" when they decided to double the penality for cutting short the contract on the Droid. I believe its in the range of $400+.

$350 to break the contract

$30 for their unlimited data which is limited to 5GB actually

And $30 additionally dollars if you want to tether which is also limited to 5GB

So $60 for unlimited data which is actually limited to 10GB data LOL!!

No F'ing thank you! I love my 3GS that I have jailbroken and unlocked on the latest version which I can tether all for my actual unlimited data. Oh and also with my jailbreak I'm able to download all the paid apps for free!!

And like you I've tried multiple phones and have sold them all except the 3GS
WinMo: Tilt, Blackjack 1,2,3
Blackberry: Curve, Bold, Storm
Android: G1
iPhone: 3G, 3GS

Here's the source for Verizons ridiculous data plan!

Sprint FTW! Fuk At&T, it it werent for them fellating apple so much and hard they would be in bankruptcy. But since most people are so fickly and have to have the Itoy, At&T can continue to offer sucky service and raise price because most people haaave to have a Iphone. But to each his own and its their money.

Wait a few weeks and check out the HTC Passion/Dragon/HD2 (or whatever it will be called) that is coming to verizon. That is the phone that will make the iphone look like a 20 year old speak and spell.
