I've been to Libya years ago and most of those are quite true.

Thanks I guess I'm not quite the fool. How was it by the way?

Not here to start an argument, but in my opinion if you blindly believe whatever you're told without any of other research, and believe that we attack others to "liberate" without expecting any gain of our own while there are millions in our own country that could benefit from the billions spent on these fights, YOU are the fool.

Oh, and guess who's flag flies in Benghazi, where it all began?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zs1aGdidfyk

Just disappointing to see people cheering the death of a country's leader because the news said it's a good thing.

The country loved Gaddafi, but NATO did not. It wouldn't be the first time we incited unrest in another location for our own benefit...

I'm sure he will enjoy the freedom of using his own logic and research to dissect these events.

Thanks, Jorsher, for posting those vids, I really enjoyed the one with the British journalist with first-hand experience in Libya, and a much more honest view about the events transpiring in Northern Africa. The last two minutes or so of her speech is especially poignant as she's expounding upon these 'targeted' countries versus the neo-Imperialism perpetrated by USA, France, UK (aka, NATO).

love this quote from her:

"A year ago, after crippling wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, and with the growing economic crises of the Imperialist nations, it seems a remote possibility that the West would have the capacity to embark on another costly and embarrassing war. It seems the hegemony of the West was rapidly on it's way out".

Oh, and f@#k the media.

It won't be too long before our "government" claims al-qaeda is harboring in Libya and yet another 'stupid' war.

I'm not disagree'ing with the point you're ultimately making, but the reasoning isn't sound...

I will. You keep believing that someday we'll find those missing WMDs.

In a way, I wish I could live in a fantasy land where I believed everything the gov't did was righteous. Ignorance is bliss, right?

Unfortunately, looking at the total we've spent on these wars (over $2.2 trillion) and realizing it's enough to give every citizen of our country over $7100, liberating many of our own citizens from hunger and poverty, it's hard to believe that we're spending that money for the sole purpose of "liberating" other countries. It's OK, I'm sure you're happy that instead we've all amassed an extra $7100 of debt per capita. Not to mention it wouldn't be the first time we were lied to, but that's another story.

My comments here are for those that may have an interest in doing some further digging, or at least looking at things from another perpsective; not for you.

It's interesting how a lot of the people we've fought have also been armed by us.

Give weapons, incite a civil war, swoop down like heroes to save the day, and be friends until they stop being beneficial. Rinse, wash, repeat.
