Default C-Spot Mercedes Party

I sent away for some literature a few months ago, and today in my mailbox, I got an invitation to the Mercedes C-Spot Party. It says:

Ever wonder what it feels like to drive a high-performance vehicle at top speed? You'll expierience it at C Spot when you...

Take a full-throttle ride alongside some of the world's fastest prefessional drivers.

Put any or all of our C-Class vehicles through their paces on three action packed driving courses.

I definately signed up, but was wondering if anyone else has ever done something like this? How was it?

Eh, the event's alright.......free food, but I didn't really find it very exciting. Got to drive some Benz models around the parking lot, but unless they've changed it since the past 2 years, you get a limited selection of E-Class and C-Class benzs....I don't remember there being a SL, S, or clk there to test drive. And no AMGs...you get to ride in a C32 for a 1 minute lap, that's about it.

Yeah, but it was a great event (for 1st timers and family), free Mercedes style foods served with nice selection of beverage of your choice, game room, gift set (MB hat, golf balls, discount shopping deals, etc.), and the AMG drivers are actually the MB team racecar drivers. Try to chat with them for that 1 minute, they are great guys. I did the c32 ride three times and it was a blast.
Take the C class on the wet traction run or drive through the loose gravel on E class or just sit in the SL55 or the MB racing C230 car with tricked out system.

You can tell, I had fun. Also there were some car clubs meeting up for this event at the time too, so we had a blast.

If it's not too far from home, I would recommend you stopping by (register first with MB for your freebies).

I did it also in the Bay area. Invited a friend and we both enjoyed it. What you drive is the C- class models, on a short course. It was worth it. It was more fun to drive my S at Thunderhill and let it loose. That was a REAL E ticket!

I did the two day BMW driving school a few years ago. Same deal; a chance to drive the wheels off the current crop of cars with pro drivers. Best bit of marketing I've seen in a while....and fun too! Good food, good driving advice, and the right price....free!

There used to be AMG models. I remember one year I was at one of those nerd alert conventions..in Veags...ahh CES. Yeah well anyways, they had all AMG's it was great. Full on road course and OMG I was sh*tting in my pants when I attempted to drive with out the TCS. lol. It was good times though. Now days all the cars are watered down and it's more you go out with a "experienced race car driver" then here you go have fun on the track. It's something to do though. Enjoy.
