My co-workers at Vandenburg AFB are launching a Delta 2 with 5 Iridium satellites on board at exactly 10 AM today (2/8).

From Los Angeles look north along the coast past Santa Barbara. Stick your head out your office window (like I have one in this cubicle farm) and if the weather doesn't suck you should see it.

It's looking really foggy here in Westlake. Ventura County seemed a little clearer, but it's not looking good for us to see this. Maybe we'll hear the sonic boom?

I remember seeing one of these launches at twilight about a year ago. It was visible from Hollywood, and very impressive. I also visited Vandenburg several years ago, and went inside SLC 6, I think it was. That was the biggest building I've ever been in. Wow.

Nothing. I work for Sea Launch which is all commercial work. No government money. We just help out the boys at Vandenburg when we are slow and they need a hand. Most of my mechanics and technicians have been up there for the last 6 months but I weaseled out due to grad school.

TrojanHorse,

I really appreciate what you guys do man. I'm a BIG space advocate and a member of NSS. I read about you guys all the time in Ad Astra and even met a high ranking member of Sea Launch at a seminar at GW University last year. Keep those rockets flyin' man!!
