Default calling all bug experts!

Hi all. I've seen 3 of these bugs in my apt recently (one a week for the past 3 weeks), and I have no idea what they are. I live in a hi-rise and my apt is normally very bug-free, and i hate bugs so it's kinda nice. but, i'm wondering if all that has come to an end. anyhow, any ideas? they're kinda little bugs, and don't fly and just kinda crawl around, they don't seem to have the quick instincts of say, a fly. i included a pic with my index finger so you have a sense of scale:

thanks!

Can't see how many pinchers are coming out of its arse, but earwigs will have two of them.

If it is an earwig, it's a baby. They are usually closer to the size of 'the tip of your finger to the first knuckle'.

thanks for the replies, guys! the earwig pics kinda look like it, except the pincers seem to be pretty prominent, and i don't recall any of the bugs i saw in my apt. having pincers (unless they were really tiny). if they're baby earwigs, would the pincers grow later on? damn bugs!

My guess is That would be a termite! They swarm this time of year and they do shed their wings. Where are you located?

It's not a cockroach, its not an earwig, and I doubt it's a termite because I dont see any striations along it's backside (still it could be one).

I don't know what it is but nothing stands out as it being something which is harmful or would stem from anything like excessive moisture or rotten wood.

I suggest brain washing these two soldiers and sending them back to their camp to gather information and return to you with the intel that you need

I am sticking with my answer! I am a contractor and have seen many termites in various stages and this looks very much like a termite to me! I am no expert but this is just an observation from experience! Termites have srtaight antennas where most other variaties such as ants have elbown in their antennas

From the picture, it definitely looks like a termite...The one in your picture is a worker termite.

Here is a link if you want more info...http://www.pestproducts.com/termites.htm

This is a soldier termite...
