i'd opt for this one.

9.1-megapixel camera with 10X optical zoom lens and 720p high-definition video recording.
$350

i'd recommend against the Lumix; we bought one (because it had the Leica lens ) for our honeymoon, and the electronics crapped out on us by the last day--so it lasted about two weeks. Returned it and bought a Nikon Coolpix... I don't remember which model, but it's 8mp I think, and shoots 30 fps video with sound (don't remember if it's stereo or not) but being able to drop in a 4gb sd card is a big help. New camera looks like this:

720P HD!!!! that's something I've been looking for. i didn't even know they existed. When I looked around for point&shoot cameras, I was very disappointed to find out (at most electronic stores) that no matter if they are 7mp or 12mp, they all only can do 640x480.

ricosuave, which one would you consider between
TZ5 and FX35?
they both have almost identical specification, except the zoom capability and its size.

Are there any other slim cameras that can do 720p?

haha, nah just at a club. i was mainly emphasizing the sound the quality in that one...cuz a lot of times with really loud bass or loud anything, there will be a lot of distortion in the video. for daytime/adequate light picture quality you can check out the other videos i have up.

720p would be sweet...if you can find that in a slim that would be a good choice. mine is a few years old so i wouldn't be surprised if there are a few models out now that do that.

Buyer beware with the Lumix. Consider other brands first; see if they have comparable features... try Canon, Nikon, Fuji, etc.

What is up with Lumix?
this is the second time hearing a bad review about their brand.

I wonder how those Canon TX1's will fit on the camera mount.
When it comes to visual imaging, i know Canon means business,
but Lumix's specification looks pretty awesome, too.
What is their problem? durability? Ive never owned any panasonic cameras. They're not even coming out until late April.

What other options do I have?
