Thumbs up Can anyone help me with my sink?

My sink is clogged and after pouring two bottles of Draino into it, it's still not unclogged. Can someone advise me what to do? What have you done that has worked for your clogged sewers/drains? Thank you!

There could be a # of factors. Is your toilet flushing A-okay? If not, it could be the piping outside that's been clogged by maybe leaves and such. It's a normal yearly maintanence to have your pipes cleared of the leaves. Calling in a plumber wouldn't be a lot of $ just to see what's wrong.

Have you taken the trap off to see if something fell in the drain?

If not, that would be my guess, all the draino in the world can't eat a spoon.

what kind of sink? what did you put down it before it got clogged? are other parts of the house backed up too? (as in a problem with the entire sewer system)?

have you tried a plunger? how about a small 'snake'? too many variables....it could be a toy (or something else) that is immovable.... so you need to answer some questions first....

you could take apart the "trap" under the sink if you like getting wet with stinky water.

Toilets are flushing fine. Other sinks and tubs are draining fine. It's just that one sink. Calling a plumber costs several hundred $$ just for inspection. Any other methods I could try? Other non-liquid de-cloggers?

Thanks for responding!

Buy a hand-rotated snake for $15-odd at Home Depot or wherever and get your hands dirty.

Before it clogged, the dishwasher was used. I don't think any spoon or fork could get into the pipe through the dishwasher. When I have time, I'll open the pipe but I doubt I'll find any spoon or fork. I think it's just clogged from ordinary debris (or whatever they're called). Thanks!
