Can anyone help me with my sink?

You need to take apart the drain BEFORE you use the draino or other product in order to not have the acid pour out on you. Those should be the LAST option not the first. If it hasn't already worked pouring more down the drain isn't going to help matters anymore.

Your dishwasher outlet should be hooked into the disposal, because the dishwasher can pump out debris from the dishes. Pasta makes a clog that needs to be broken with a snake, it becomes a massive piece of material when it has a chance to set up. Other debris that is hard to get rid of is fibrous stuff like celery, carrots and those types of vegetables.

My experience with this is that I was the Director of Maintenance and Engineering (15years) at several hotels with restaurants (where most of the problems with drains occured ).
Thanks, Mr. Director of M & E!

I gotta look into your highlighted suggestion above. It may be hooked up wrong. By any chance, do you know of any site that has a diagram of a properly connected disposal? I'll do a search, but wonder what result I'll get.

There should just be a stubbed out inlet on the disposal that the drain hose from the dishwasher just slides onto and a couple of small clamps to make it secure. If your dishwasher isn't already hooked up this way there will be a plastic knockout plug in the nipple, just break it and make sure it is completely broken out. The pieces can be washed into the disposal and ground up.

Yes, I noticed the white tube from the dishwasher wasn't hooked up to the disposal, but instead to something that looks like a V-shape, which leads to the drain. If I took this white tube and hooked it up to the disposal, what should I do to the V-shape's opening now that it's left open? Perhaps I could take pics? Thanks for your help! I sure do appreciate it.

OMG! You broke the pipe with a snake? Snakes are supposed to be flexible, Either like a very tight spring or a thin peice of metal. WOW! after you take off that pipe check the dishwasher thing, I never had a problem with that but hopefully that'll be the issue

Used the snake...wound all of the coil and it went smoothly; nothing seemed to block it. However, the drain is still clogged. Took the pipes under the sink apart, everything looked good, but still clogged. Went to buy the most powerful draining liquid from Home Depot; it didn't work. One last resort before calling a plumber, going to buy another draino "with a skull" to see if it works. Don't know where to buy it though; True Value is not around here. So mad!

Good news! Hours of probing like an alien, it finally worked. Then combined with drainos for the final touch.

Thanks for all your responses!

Don't know. Probably combination of foods and shaven pubes over the years. Just kidding! Probably just food debris and vegetables. Ran the snake to 25 feet to reach the blockage.
