Can I ask what the General census is on the Audi 225 TT
OK, I'll bite. I didn't care for the TT when it came out. I thought it was one of the ugliest cars in recent memory. Since then, it has grown on me and I am still not enamored with its exterior design, I think it's a finely made car with a badass interior, decent engine and made for some great GT cruising.
I assume, since you are asking this question on an S2000 forum that you are trying to compare the two cars. And I don't see the relationship. The TT is a fine cruiser, the S2000 is a nasty, raw and aggressive sports car.
But I admire the TT now...it's different, and I always like different. Vive le difference...!
You can't go wrong either way...

I think it's a great looking car, I see one almost everyday on my drive to work, but it's a hardtop. I would love to drive one to compare. My Brother in Law has the A4 and wants one of these bad! If the S2000 weren't available, it would be on my list to check out!
Two totally different cars, just depends on what you're looking for. The Audi is much more 'creature comfort' oriented and the S is more more sports car oriented. I own a 2001 S2000 and my girlfriend has a 2001 TT Quattro. Both cars have their own niche. On a side note, we are selling the Audi. It's black on black and is the 225 hp Quattro with a 6 speed manual. It's the coupe and has the Bose upgrade and the car has about 3000 miles on it. If you're interested, let me know, otherwise we're trading it in on BMW X5 pretty soon.
AHHHHH... not another SUV on the road... derryck: I know the TT isn't that practical, but I beg you - keep it! It's a much more fun daily ride than an X5, and unless you plan to have a couple kids, it will serve you better. The X5 is no bigger than a sedan inside, it just sits higher and is therefore more dangerous.
Juliann, my teammate in the S2000, has a 225TT... it's a fine around town car, and it's awesome for long trips even for my 6'3" frame. And she has an 80lb. boxer that she hauls in the back. It's much more fun and unique to keep a car like the TT as a daily driver rather than jump on the SUV bandwagon. This isn't an insult, you may have very valid reasons for getting the X, but I just wanted to make sure you thought it through before getting rid of such a fine car.
Which brings me to my review of the TT... I've put many miles on Juliann's car, and it's a great performer. You either love or hate the looks (I am on the love side), and the performance is more geared to comfort than pure speed. However the TT is much more stable at speeds over 140 than the S2000. It was made as an autobahn cruiser. The fact of the matter is an S2000 would slaughter a TT on the racetrack, but the TT car hold it's own on the highway. And it doesn't handle badly - it's more that the car we're all used to handles so phenomenally!
Cheers!
