There are so many versions it seems, does anyone know if there is still a free, no-spyware version, and where to get it?

I think all the kazaa-lite sites are gone due to legal issues.

 

Not true at all. Get yourself Kazza Lite K++ no spyware or ads. Use google to find it.

although kazaa lite site says that it shut it down and deleted all history including the server, the server is still running. The only version that works now is the latest i think is was 2.5

 

The last time I tried to use Kazaa, the songs were "seeded" so badly from anti-piracy groups, that I couldn't get anything useful. In my experience, the faster the download speed, the more likely the chance that it was planted dud. Anyone have any tips on how to get around this?

I prefer WINMX althogh there is not much on there compared to kazza when you find something it is so fast because not many people go on there.
