just tell me... what the heck is a "inukshuk"?

 

An inukshuk is a stone marker, in the shape usually of a man.

Indians and Inuit alike make them all over the place to indicate safe passage, food source, water etc. If you drive on the highway in the north of Ontario you see them all over the road sides.

Its a pretty ancient thing, been done forever. I think its kinda neat to see them on the road while driving.
