Depends on what you're applying for.
If you needed a job, you would have one by now. No such thing as someone who is unemployable (unless you are mentally/physically disabled), it just depends on how bad you want it.
What work experience do you have?
What about being a food server at a restaraunt that doesn't serve alcohol? What about manufacturing?
Are you too proud to work in fast food? You could move up to management quickly if you have a HS diploma and you work hard enough. Manage a fast food place and that gives you something to talk about on a resume.

what type of jobs are you applying for? I have a friend that hasnt had a job for like 4 years simply because he stand to work in the food industry. When there are plenty of jobs available like that around here. He also wants a job to pay him like $10 an hour without any type of high school diploma or GED or any formal training. So maybe look at what you are applying for and see if maybe your sights are set to high cause if your just looking for a job that will give you some extra cash why would you be applying for career jobs. IMHO though.
Dude.....it's the holiday season. Go to a mall, and i guarantee you someone will be hiring seasonal atleast. Start off somewhere, even if they pay minimum. Better than no job at all and sitting at home and getting no money. Once christmas is over, if you are good enough in your job, they might keep you or lay you off, but atleast you got some experience...you know? Also, whenever you are applying, ask an employee if the manager is around, so maybe you can give the application to them personally, it makes a difference and tells everyone that you are very interested in what you are applying for. Also, act very professional. Good luck.
PS: Always ask if they are "currently hiring". Don't just go and ask "can i have an application?". They will give you an application even if they are not hiring. Tackle more for the places that say that they are "currently hiring". I know this is kind of an obvious thing....but still.

oh yeah one more thing, as a manager I have never liked when people called to ask if we were hiring. It shows a complete lack of effort I mean if your not willing to at least come and get an application can you really be counted on to come into work? I definately agree with DancnBalla823 dont just ask for an application try and talk to the manager or if not see if you can set up an appointment, believe me it stands out.
getting the job you want isnt easy. you gotta work for it. you're lucky if it falls into your lap.
i was a store manager in an industry i hated. i worked at that place for over 4 years and everyday i hated it. one day i got fed up and left. i swore i'd never get back into that line of buisness ever agian. i went a few months without work and felt miserable each and everyday. i couldnt find a job. i didnt continue my education into colledge after HS so i had no experince in anything else. i had to resort to flipping burgers on the midnight shift at a fast food place. i had no choice but to do it so i could start agian and go to technical school. i was smelling like steamed onions and deprived of sleep for about a year untill i graduated and started working my way back up the ladder. this time, a ladder i was happy to climb.
most of us work our way up from the bottom. looks like you will have to as well. no matter how bad it feels to be working at a McDumpies, it beats feeeling like a scumbag sitting on mom and pop's couch all day.
at least you're working towards something bigger and better. at home, you're just waiting for nip tuck to come on.
how bad is it to have families and friends see you go from having your own office to mopping bathroom floors? worse then the expression i got from my brother when he came home to find me sitting on my azz waiting for hom to pay the bills for me, bring home dinner for me, and struggle as i dragged my feet and not help out financially.

I'm wondering. The OP is a HS grad without a job yet have a relatively expensive car to buy, maintain, and insure?
Go in, ask if the manager is free if yes pass on resume tell them you're willing to do go on low/no pay trial to prove yourself but try not to come across too desperate. If they aren't there ask if you can leave a copy for them and then find out what time they'll be available and call back and make certain they received it and have seen that you're serious enough that you hung around. Shake their hand whether they're male or female and look them in the eye and try not to look uncomfortable by clicking pens or looking around the room.
