A car ran into my GF's office today!
Back in the late 80s I was in the gym in Pasadena and my car, a 79 BMW 320i, was parked down the street. This old, old guy, driving a beat up old Ford, trying to park in front of me with no car in front of him, backed into the side of my car twice -- just creamed it. His son came running out of his office right where his car was parked -- and he was old. I told the cop who took the police report "This guy shouldn't be driving. He's going to kill somebody." The cop just shrugged his shoulders. I go back into the gym, finish my workout, shower, and go back to my car. The old guy had backed into it again, knocking it up on the curb. I tell his insurance adjuster at my body shop what I told the cop and he also just shrugged his shoulders. About a month later I see the old guy walking across the street, very near where he backed into my car, stooped over, his torso at a 90

wow... simply wow... old people shouldnt drive... they're a hazard... much more of a hazard than us teens... i think my insurance should go down... and senior citizen insurance should go up... and yes to the annual drivers exam for the elderly... at least kids have their reflexes and eyesight in tact. -_-'
i have a similar story from a baseball coach at my highschool. this happened last year i think... when he was working out in the gym. he parks his car right in front where he can see it... he just got brand new jetta and he drove it to the gym. all of a sudden, he hears a loud crashing noise and when he looked he saw a nissan pathfinder just fly through the window right in front of the tredmills crushing his new car flat as a pancake... luckily no one felt like running that day and no one got hurt. the driver was an illegal immigrant, no license, no insurance... poor coach got screwed over... i hope he had uninsured driver insurance.....

This is how messed up the driving laws are. I know an old lady -- in her 80s, that phyiscally cannot walk (in a wheel chair) and wears some super zoom eyeglasses. She just got reissued her drivers liscense! Thank god she cannot drive but the fact that the state gave it to her is just insane. Somone needs to stand up and fight this instead of being afraid of the negative political gain that they would recieve from the elderly. Screw politics.
