Default Caracas, Venezela

I may be spending two weeks in Caracas, Venezuala - Dec 6 through Dec 18 - on a consulting gig: cost risk analysis. I've never been to Caracas, so I don't know the city.

Has anyone been? What would you suggest / recommend?

Thanks!

My wife's already looked through the State Department recommendations, and told me to ask the airline to arrange my transportation from the airport to the hotel.

And to let the US Embassy know that I'm in town.

We have that covered, thanks!

Seems to be a jumping off point. I know a number of people who have travelled through the seedier parts of s america and most have been robbed. Smart, experienced travellers. No reason to worry, just be sure and keep a copy of your passport in your shoe .

wikitravel.com is a really good site.
