Default cell phone problem

My three year old Nokia 6236i started acting up two days ago. It has serious problems getting reception where it used to get full, or nearly full reception. Most of the time in my house now, I have zero bars reception, or the phone is stuck "searching for network..." Sometimes it will spontaneously get reception (say 5 of 7 bars for example) but as soon as I pick it up, or move it an inch, it will go back to zero bars, or "searching for network..." This happens even when the phone is fully charged and even when it's plugged into the charger.

In my house is the worst. I don't see any changes in reception at work. It was half way in the shitter at my friends apartment the other night.

Does this sound like a battery problem? Phone problem? Doubt it's a service problem.

Your phone is probably toast. Who is your carrier?

It's internal.. but I suppose I could.

I've also 'updated my roaming capabilities' through VZW, taken the battery out to reset the phone, etc, etc.

I'm on verizon.

I just need this mother ****er to last a little longer. There are zero phones out for verizon that interest me right now. I was hoping to hold off until the Palm Pre is available.

How about dialing *228 or whatever the update number is. I had to do it for my Q awhile ago and it worked. I was having similar problems with reception. I called customer service and they told me to call that number whenever I had that problem.
