Default Cell phone ringtones

I have a samsung A680 on a canadian network, basically bell mobility. I have the cable/download capability. I don't pay for webservice, but was wondering if there is a way to grab new real tones off the net and then upload them to the phone. Free is always best

Do you have a USB cable(for the Samsung)?

If so, I'll hook you up with, "The Hustle", "Stayin Alive", "Set On You", and "The Pink Panther"! The cheesier the better right?

A while ago, I just went on Kazaa(bad bad bad!) and downloaded 28,000 ringtones.

What I have are in MIDI format. My Nokia came with software that will load these on the phone. I think it accepts MP3s too...

Oh yeah, you want polyphonic I see. Your software should be able to handle MP3s if the phone can do polyphonic.

Polyphonic doesn't = MP3. Polyphonic just means it can produce more than one sound at a time. Most likely it means that it can play midi files.

The A680 is incapable of playing MP3 ringtones right off the bat. Older Samsungs require you to convert sound files to the MMF format before loading them onto the phone. With some work, you're able to convert small MP3s into MMF files. Here's a guide: http://www.mobiledia.com/forum/topic8008.html
