Cheap romantic ideas?
Candles, sensuous massage, rub her feet, take her on a walk in the park, listen when she talks, look into her eyes when you talk. Its all about making her feel she is the only thing that matters - leave your cell phone off or in the car
From 'P0rN for Women'
"Honey, I don't want to give any advice, just sit here and listen"

When you're in a long term relationship or marriage, you find it more and more difficult to do this since women get annoying complaining about problems.. and not taking good advice.

First date: Have a CLIF bar before dinner. When you get to the place, order a salad. Only the worst golddiggers are going to out-eat you. You just walked out of a steak joint with a $30 tab.
Second date: Walk on the beach. Bring some vino.
(similar to the picnic idea Keith is talking about)
Third date: Dinner at her place. Agree to cook. Bring Trader Joe's heat-and-eat simple stuff.
Fourth date: who cares, you're gone.

Seriously though, strolls through, in, and around places. . . keeps them talking, and keeps them from buying stuff on your dime.
It's about the quality and quantity of time. If you give her too much free shit to do, the chances of her actually doing a dollar-per-dollar assessment of the situation greatly decrease.
Oh yeah, I learned this one a couple of gf's back: Don't get flowers. Biggest racket on Earth. The florists know you're in the doghouse. Only get flowers if it's cheaper than the alternatives. Instead of flowers, get her a nice card. Instead of getting her a nice card, make one (if you have any artistic inclinations).

Seriously though. . . one way to cut down there is to find a good local hideaway.
Well we have been together almost 5 years.
The reason for this question is:
I was brought up in a weathly family where all my dad cared about was money. So his "gifts" to my mom would be obviously money oriented. Always jewelry, shopping, whatever. It was only about how much it cost, not what it ment from him to her.
My girlfriend on the other hand comes from a lower middleclass family(Dad is a pastor). He always finds creative romantic things to do that HAVE to be done on a budget. They are the most happily married couple I know!
My parents got divorced 2 years ago and my father disowned me, stopped helping with college BECAUSE I spoke to my mom and sister. So thats my romantic teaching from my family..
Thanks for the ideas guys. Im 21 and still trying to learn.
