Default Chevy's New SSR

Has anyone else seen Chevy's new pickup - the SSR?

We passed one last Saturday.

All I could think was, "Yuck!"

Yesterday I learned that the base price is $42,000.

Yuck^2!

I think it will flop just like the T-Bird. The SSR is overweight, slow, and expensive.

42,000+

Went by when I was getting my trailblazer, saw a dealership with a "Market Adjustment Price", +$4999

I left that dealership after I saw that.

Here, the "Market Adjustment Price" is +$15,000!

I think they look pretty cool, and I would take one if it were given to me, but I would never pay that much money for it.

For $42,000 I'd rather take the new V-6 Porsche Cheyanne

That's "Cayenne", as in the chili, not the city in Wyoming.

Even with $42,000 I don't think you are going to get even a decent Cayenne, and there is no way you are going to get the 'S' with the Turbo V8 pumping out 450 HP.

^ I know. That's why I said the new V-6 and not the Turbo V-8. The V-6 goes for about $42,000.

I'd rather have an SSR than the V6 Porsche. I guess that's why they make both chocolate AND vanilla.

Typically when I look at cars I only see the top of the line version. I don't look at 2WD trucks if they are available in 4WD, and I only look at the biggest engine option. For me the new Durango ONLY comes with the Hemi. The one's without the Hemi don't really count in my book. The only 'Vette I would consider would be the Z06 for the same reasons. Go big, or go home!
