Child support question.
What is a general percentage of child support payment for one child? I know it varies between states and the family's financial aspects, but just give me some educated guess. I've heard it's around 30% of the net income from the paying parent. Is this almost correct? Thanks a lot!
Hopefully the individual faced with this this problem has a lawyer. The lawyer is the best one to answer your question. A lot depends on incomes of the mother and father and other factors. We are talking about a long commitment (up at least to age 18 for the child, longer if school is an issue).
I am not a lawyer, as a matter of fact I don't like 99% of them, but I have been through a nasty divorce.
Bite the bullet and hire the best lawyer you can get. It will be money well spent in the long run. Life sucks sometimes.
Good luck.
