no its just i have many little cousins and it looks bad when you work, hook up your car, and go out alot and after a while year, cant even shell out like 50 bucks to your little cousins.

During Asian new year, families and friends give each other money, as gifts, in red envelopes. And yes, they do gamble too.

Even though my dad is half Chinese we don't celebrate Chinese New Year. I think it brings back too many memories of my Popo which is my dad's mom.

are you married?? according to tradtion, you have to be married to give money, and you have to be single to receive money (regardless of age). violating tradition is offensive to the chinese people.
