Default Are Chinese restaurants usually open for Chinese New Year?
Just trying to find out, so I can make plans ahead of time. Are they very busy? Would it be best to make reservations?

Obviously yes, I suggest you make reservations ASAP cuz it'll be crowded. (in Montreal anyways)
