Christmas surprise!
Well, it's been 2½ years since my wife and I went on a horse drive in Northeastern Idaho with, amongst others, two lovely women from Aberdeen, Scotland who were celebrating their 40th birthdays. They brought along a bottle of Tormore single-malt Scotch, a wonderful Speyside distillate. Since that time I have been checking everywhere to find a bottle of Tormore. Southern California, North Carolina, South Carolina, Portugal, Germany, France, Switzerland. No luck. It appeared that it wasn't being exported from Scotland, at least not to the US.
Yesterday my younger son (who's home from the Army for two weeks) and I went out to finish up our Christmas shopping, and went to BevMo; I was looking for a bottle of Aberlour A'bunadh (which, fortunately, they had). I looked up and down the shelves of Scotch to see if they had something interesting, and darned if I didn't come across a bottle of Tormore 12-year! What a find! I bought it, brought it home, and gave it to my wife so that she can give it to me on Christmas!
