Chrysler Classic Speed Fest - Ferrari 360 Modena
Last Sunday I attended the Fourth Annual Chrysler Classic Speed Fest at North Island NAS. It was a car guys wet dream!
The primary event was the Classic Car races. This consisted of 8 groups of classic race cars, starting with pre-1941 cars and under 950cc Sports & Racing Cars up through 1966-1972 Historic Trans-Am Cars.
The oldest cars in the first group were a 1926 Frazer-Nash Boulogne and a 1926 Rod-Rajo. Other cars included a 1931 MG C, a 1932 Alfa-Romeo Monza, a 1934 MG K3 Special and a 1938 Talbot Lago T-26 SS.
Going up through the groups, some of the marques represented were Jaguar, Allard, Porsche, Kurtis, Manning, MG, Ferrari, Austin-Healey, Cooper, Lotus, Maserati, Abarth, Devin, Triumph, Sunbeam, Corvette, Alfa-Romeo, Ace, Morgan, Cobra, Shelby, Lola, BMW, and McLaren.
Some really interesting racing!
Also of interest was the AAA Car Club area, where just about every sports car of the last 50 years was represented, including Porsche, Ferrari, Mustang, Viper, Miata, NXS, BMW, and more, plus lots of street rods from bobtail Ts to '32 Deuce Coupes, 40's coupes, 50's cruisers and 60's muscle cars. Unfortunately, the San Diego S2000 owners didn't have their act together in advance, so there were no S2000s.
There was also a display of rare vintage cars, including a 1930's Talbot Lago, 1920's Packards, Deusenbergs and others.
There were lots of vendor displays and I saw this gem at the display of an exotic car dealer:
The engine bay:
The interior was Rick Hesel dream, completely covered in beautiful black leather with yellow accent stitching:

All in all, a fabulous day!
