Chrysler Crossfire
What do you think of the new Chrysler Crossfire Concept? http://www.motortrend.com/autoshows/detroit01/
Chrysler Crossfire
Motor Trend's February 2001 cover car, the Chrysler Crossfire has turned heads at the Detroit show like the Viper and PT concepts before it. The two-seater has been engineered well beyond the minimum needed for display, indicating that there is serious internal interest in this feisty fastback. A production 2.7-liter DOHC V-6 was augmented with an Eaton supercharger to deliver 275 horsepower to the rear wheels. At minimum, the Crossfire expresses future design language. Best case, it is a taste of things to come.

Retro - Americans are trying what was tried and true - back in the 40's through the 60's. The lines are nice in an old style ganster car. I'd sure like to make a few drive bys in one of those.
But the US automakers can't get horsepower out of their motors, so they must supercharge them to come close or barely beat the competition.
Has anyone asked, how much this sucker is going to weigh? And what the hp to weight ratio will be? Its not a Bently Turbo R - a car that weighs 5500lbs and can go 0-60 in a hair over 6 seconds - which is quite phenomenal - its just an American car. Until they improve the quality, I won't buy.
But who do you see driving this car? Certainly not the PT drivers of today.
