Default Cingular/T-Mobile question

I currently have a cingular phone, but there is this T-mobile phone that i really want. i heard that t-mobile and cingular use the same networks. now if i buy the t-mobile phone and stick my cingular sim in it will it work? of course assuming that the t-mobile phone is unlocked. i have heard mixed answers from yes, no to maybe.

sorry... can't do that.

you'll need to re-program the t-mobile to read the cingular/sbc SIM card. the cards look identical but i guarantee it won't work without modification to the phone itself.

go to a small chinese cell phone place. they should be able to convert the tmobile phone to a universal one for less than 20 bucks.

Check out www.howardforums.com

They will have a listing for nearly any phone, who to deal with etc.

YES, you can put your cingular sim into ANY unlocked GSM phone and it will work...good luck.

I know Handspring Treos work with Cingular. But that is Palm based. I'm not familiar with Pocket PC phones. I think Seung bought one not to long ago, you might want to ask him.
