Tomorrow, all 533 locations of America's/ Discount Tire Company are closed from Noon-3:00 for Good Friday. WOW. That's rare that the owner of the company would do that.

what's the point? To save money for 3 hours on the company wide payroll?

Actually, all 3 hours will be PAID for all the employees. And lunch is also paid for by the company.

The point, I thought was simple , is to observe Good Friday because the owner is catholic.

It's not always about "the bottom line" with the company I work for. Sundays we're close, when all our competitors are open on the busiest tire shopping day of the week. He feel's that Sunday should be spent with your family, friends, or whoever you choose without work getting in the way.

Our company gave the day off as well. Not that we are as big as America's/Discount Tires, but we do believe in respect and care for our employees!

p.s. Thanx again for hooking me up with those Advan's Arnel! So far 8K and still going strong!
