Coffee
Anyone have a french press? Have a brand to recommend? Is it worth it? Being ridiculously lazy, will I actually use it?
Where do I get good coffee? Local coffee shops or chains that are good? Anything in my local grocery going to not suck?
Educate me.

You have to try different beans and see how they taste. You probably want to read up on how different beans taste based on where they are from and how different roasting effects the beans' flavor. As for where to get the beans, you might start with a local coffee shop and see if they know of local roasters so you can get fresher coffee.
As for presses, you can get a Bodum press for like $20-30, so its not expensive to get into. The process is simple - boil water, pour over grounds, stir, wait 3 min. You can boil the water while you're getting ready in the morning and it basically takes little time to have great coffee.
Its more involved than a drip machine, so only you know if you'll use it.

Meh, I don't use a french press because I'm too damn lazy and it doesn't produce the mass quantities it takes to get me going. An old roommate was a barista and used to use one. I was never that impressed...
The keys to a good pot of coffee for me are as follows:
- Buy whole bean and grind each morning. I have a cheap electric grinder that has worked for years. The taste improvement is so substantial I make the extra effort. There are several that will do the whole process for you, but I'm too cheap.
- If you're going to add cream, use 1/2 & 1/2. Much richer flavor and compliments the coffee much more than milk or that flavored shit.
My personal taste regular whole bean 8 o'clock coffee, which is only $5 for a week's supply. I like it better than Starbucks or DnD, which are twice as expensive. There is plenty of better stuff out there but the price is right and I can buy it at any grocery store.

Espresso > coffee imho.
I did try Starbucks new "instant coffee" and it was better than the normal swill @ work. I had the Italian Roast. Other than that, a scoop of fresh ground espresso in the machine and I have a double shot in minutes; sometimes I add a shot of milk, but never any sugar.
