Default cold remedies

so my whole house has been sick at some point or another in the past two weeks. all of us had either the flu or in one particular case, pneumonia. 2 of my other roommates spent loads of money on airborne, walborne (ghetto airborne), nasal sprays, multiple pills, and all this other shite. Seriously, what a bs industry.

Today, i come into work and i am listening to one woman who sells personal wellness products on the side talking to another employee instructing her how to drink water with her special mixture. "Is it ok if i drink half now and half later?" "oh yeah, absolutely, if you like your water cold, you can refrigerate it and have some later"...it cost $20 for a box how about you eat healthier in the first place...like not ordering fried foods for lunch everyday, drinking the req. amount of water, and consuming fruits or veggies...guarantee those costs are less than these "preventative" measures

why do people spend so much money trying to trick themselves into feeling that they are feeling better?

You are partially right, airborne really doesn't get rid of a cold, but the vitamin mixture should help you feel a little better as your body is fighting off a cold. Loading your body with Vitamin C is a great way to get through a cold. B-12 is pretty helpful too...also helps hangovers.

No shit? I'm going to have to keep a box in the house just for hangovers.

After drinking I often load up on a whole slew of vitamins before I go to bed and pretty much the worst I feel these days is extra tired the next day, as opposed to sick.

They don't prevent shit, and they won't get rid of shit. What they do it give your body the proper vitaminsm nutrients, amino acids, as well as herbs that have been shown to have benefit; all so your body is able to better keep its immune system running in tip top shape. They certainly are not magic, but to say they are bullshit is incorrect.

Pepper spray works wonders for a headcold! Spray some in a paper bag, enhale it and watch the snot flow like Niagra Falls!

My family doctor(for over 20 years) always told me this,"you can have a cold for 1 week or you can see a doctor and have a cold for 7 days".

I ended up catching a pretty nasty flu last weekend(can't ever remeber feeling that bad) doctor said it had to do with the weather change since we went from 20's-30's to almost 70 degrees in a short period of time, feeling alot better none, but I'm still pretty tired.

Drink lots of fluids, and get lots of sleep is the best thing.

I like Zicam zinc swabs. I am convinced they reduce the severity of most of my colds (if I get to swabbing just as soon as I notice it coming it). But I know the proper double-blind research results are mixed.
