UTI as in Univ Tech Institute?

Maybe I jumped to far on that...if its above UTI be aware that the recruiters for these types of schools are pretty ruthless and get paid on commissions.

My brother graduated from Chicago UTI and really got screwed. His diploma was worth close to nothing in the real world. His 2 years would've been better spent fres/soph year at UW where I graduated from.

He had HVAC degree but in midwest/Chicago area he ran into a lot of union pressure. "Join union or no hire"/need 5 yrs apprenticeship/need journeymen's card, etc.... All he wanted to do was use his brain. The UTI recruiter promised the world and had all these charts to back it up. So my bro bit and spent $20K.

He ended up a master machinist but that took him 7 years of sweat and bloody knuckles. No diploma needed.
