Default computer buff's i need some help....

hey,
my home computer is acting a little tweaky, it cant connect to the internet, and everything i set and connected, i have cable internet if it matters, and when i try to connect to the internet it takes a while, then says that the page cant be displayed, and everyonce and when i try to go on aim, it does not load the program and then after about 5 minutes the computer goes to the blue screen, then i have to force it to quit, and it all goes around again when i start the computer up again, anyone have any idea as to why the computer is acting this way? the last thing i did was update flash and so i dont think there is any virus, and i have not done anything on that computer in a while, so there cannot be any other source that would bring a virus in.... and to add, the internet works fine with the other 2 computers in the house, my laptop for school, and my dad's laptop so its not like the internet just doesnt work at all...
i tried rebooting the modum and making sure settings were all correct, but there is no sign of an error in anything so i am totally stumped on what can be the cause of this problem...
and also, just like 2 days ago it working fine, so it just started acting like this out of no where
thanks for your help... any thoughts or ideas are appreciated

You may call your cable provider and ask that they check your connection. You can also go to www.dslreports.com to check your speed to see if your line is provisioned correctly for what you're paying.

I'd then start cleaning out your computer, Temporary Internet Files, Cookies, unused programs, Start menu, and g'head and ad AdAware and Spybot to check things out.

Let us know.

I'd call your cable company. See if there is/was any service interuption. I know I was late one time on a bill, and they cut me off...hehe

Also, what OS are you using? Is your computer connected directly to your cable modem? via network cable? via usb?

Do you have a valid IP address assigned to your computer? is your NIC still online?

Can you ping a IP address, like... 209.98.98.98 (its a local ISP's dns server)?
