My computer is running @ 100% CPU Usage.

Any reason why this would be?

3 week old install of WinXP Pro

No viruses.

Deleted items caught by Adware.

Memory usage under processes is normal besides the fact that when cpu usage hits 100% ... sometimes but not most of the time explorer.exe = 100,000K mem usage

Pull up task manager, and hit processes tab, then hit memory (mem usage) list the top 5 here, then hit CPU and list the top 5 (probably will be same 5).

My guess is some spy ware, but it could be some antivirus software.

 

I you have not done so already run a virus scan. I had the same problem a few months ago and it was virus that was sending out e-mails. Had to unload and reinstall as there was no fix for the problem at that time.
