Default Concussions

And what was it like? I took a mean elbow to the jaw Saturday night and hit the concrete pretty hard afterward. Now every time I move my head to the right or left there is a sharp pain on the right side of my brain and I've been having headaches ever since that night.

Obviously I should go to the doctor. I wanted to get input before I went kay thnx.

The headaches leads me to believe you suffered a concussion.

Before loading up on Tylenol and other blood thinning medication to alleviate the pain, call a doctor.

Definitely call a doctor. A concussion will leave you dizzy, confused, tired, etc. immediately after. I've had a few mild concussions, from football and once in a car accident. Just left me confused, I had no sense of direction and my spatial perception was gone, it was scary.

!!!

We have a winner here. I've been kind of "out of it" the past few days...acting strange. And today I was over an hour late for work simply because I didn't feel like getting up and I was overly tired...which never happens to me.

I'm definitely going to the doctor.

I've had one. Go to the doctor as soon as you can.

I once got kicked in the back of the head whilst sparring in Tae Kwon Do.

Prior to that I'd never fully understood the reference to "seeing stars". You really do. It's like an extremely intense, multi-colored meteorite shower all around you.

Very weird.

(Real meteorite showers are far more enjoyable. Take my word for it.)

Don't wait - go to the doctor now. Get someone to drive you.

If you're still feeling it, it could be serious - especially since you said you had trouble waking up. Mine lasted less than 24 hours.

Go now!

I had a major one (like should of gone to the ER bad) a few years ago. I fell off of a motorized skateboard doing about 20 mph and landed right on my head. For the next 2 months or so I felt off. The first few weeks I couldn'y lay down of get up too fast or I'd puke or pass out..... it was bad

A brain concussion can be quite serious. It can involve brain swelling, coma, and death. YMMV. Go to the doctor today.
