Cool Guitar Vids
Buckethead has skills, no doubt, but I think Satch (Satriani) would play circles around him live. Satriani just has that special something that makes a technical virtuoso into a wonder. His licks are awesome and he can come together in an event like G3 and be brilliant with improvisation and synergy between the musicians. I just don't see that with buckethead.

I could not disagree with you more. Run circles around? Give me some that wacky tabacky you're smoking.
Yes Satch is good, maybe on par with Buckethead. Stevie Vai is another virtuoso. They're all phenomenal.
I'd rather not make this thread into a pissing match.
Better yet, if you guys have any cool vids of the aforementioned players,...POST THEM!
Thanks.

As far as drums go, Mike Portnoy is one of the greatest. He also happens to play for Dream Theater. Their music is a little different, but if you like Pink Floyd and Rush, you should like DT. Progressive Rock

I'd have to say the best drummers were/are: Dennis Chambers, Neil Pert, Stewart Copeland and for the old timers, Buddy Rich.

Back when Satriani was giving lessons to Hammett, Skolnick, and Vai, Kirk was definitely the weakest link with regards to skill/technique, and still is today. However, with regards to song-writing skill, he continues to be the strongest of the 3.

<--I'll let the avatar, his sons, and his touring guitarists speak for themselves. . .
