When you get a detector you'll quickly learn where the grocery store doors are and while you can get rid of the K band I wouldn't. I've found that many municipalities are beginning to use the older K band radar because many of the newer detectors don't receive it &/or a lot of people have disabled it.

The V1 tells you how many radars are out there plus what direction. That's the biggest reason to us the Valentine.

Do u have to mount it on the dash board. or can u keep it little lower. I dont want the cops spotting. I live in a state where the cops/law dont like it. Or what other ways can u mount it and hide it from plain site.

wow its like $400.00 Valentine One Radar Detector (with laser)

You want to mount it where you have little to no obstruction in each direction (I think the dash may be too low in an s2k).

I have a visor mount for mine (was far too obvious mounted on the windshield).

Use the "Waze" App on your phone or get the valentine. If you can use the waze app while your radar is on would be even better.. I don't own a radar detector but waze has saved me a few times

x3!!! I have mine just below the rearview mirror so that the rear facing sensor can "see" through the back window. If it is placed lower on the windshield the rear sensor will be obstructed by the seat/passengers/bottom half of soft top. Also be sure to hardwire it to the car otherwise you will have to deal with a long cord stretching from the windshield to below the glovebox! It blends in pretty well with the mirror mount so its not really noticeable when your driving by.

Detection range varies based on a number of different variables so no RD will give you 2-3 miles in every possible situation. RD's have been discussed here but I recommending using an RD forum for your research. Laser detection in an RD won't help you. Finally, even using any or all of these you still have to be aware of what's going around you. If you're mindlessly speeding (and above the limit is speeding whether coasting or not) then you should expect to continue to get tickets. An RD isn't going to magically save you.

There are RDD's but IIRC your RD has to be on. They cannot jam.

V1 and Escort aren't the only options.

What he said...

the V1 is great but it's crazy how many false signals it gives, even when it's screaming at me I tend to ignore it. Waze is way better IMO. It's free and almost fool proof.

Like the others said, there are no devices that can jam a radar or laser. A radar detector will only get you so far if the radar is being activated intermittently, or if a laser device is being used. Likewise, don't waste your money on radar/laser jammers because they don't work. If you have any other questions I'll be glad to help, but the best thing you can do is watch your speed and use common sense.
