Very sad. A best friend of mine is diabetic and I've seen his sugar very high and very low and those are times you can't always help yourself and need someone to help you. I can only imagine how this guy felt.

I got pissed though when I read that even though the driver is suing the police dept, the first officer on the scene is filing felony charges at the driver (for whatever reason).

He's filing felony charges against the driver at the advice of the District Attorney.
"We'll offer to drop the charges if you drop yours" kinda thing I'd be willing to bet..

Actually the same thing happened to my brother's brother in law about two months ago. (I don't know what that makes him to me?)

He moved to a new town in Michigan for work and did not know anybody so he went to a movie by himself and his bloodsugar got low. He was driving down the road in shock at very slow speed and got pulled over. He was basically not responding to the officers questions so the officer tased him in the forehead a couple times.

I met him a few times and he is the nicest 20 something kid you'd ever want to meet. I'd sue, but I don't think he will. He was not violent or disrespectful to the officer, just out of it.

Too many of these hard ass douchebags are far to itchy to pull out their toys and wield power and whup-ass over people.
