So last night, at approx 2 AM, I was driving home on Soldier Field Road where normally there is little traffic. No, not this time. There was like mad traffic on both side of the median. There was about 5-10 cruiser and a sign "Sobriety Test". This was the first time I've ever seen this. I dont even know what sobriety means. One lane of traffic. I had my seatbelt on, both hands on the wheel. 10 mins later, my turn. My top was down, so I dont have to roll down the window. The cop can obviously see that I was not intoxicated. So here was the dialog.

Cop: We're checking to see if you might be driving under the influence.
Me: No sir, I dont drink.
Cop: Where were you coming from?
Me: My friend's place, in Oak Square.
Cop: And where are you going.
Me: Home....................in Norwood.
Cop: (checking out my car), Nice car, what it is?
Me: (smilling with grin on my face) It's a S2000.
Me: from Honda.
Cop: (Suprise) Honda!
Cop: It's looks like a fast car, make sure you're obeying the law when driving this.
Cop: Okay, go on.
Me: (With grin still on my face, and pulling away at 25 mph) Thank you, sir.

 

I went through one of those this summer. I was the only one on the road so all the cops were looking at my car. I hadn't been drinking so I wasn't worried, but I could tell they were all checking out the car (in a good way).

 

Uh, I went through one of these and was nervous the entire time because I had removed the front license plate like so many have done!!! Cop didn't see it though, thank god!

 

Should've asked him to race, "Faster than your car! Wanna see?"

 

"Are you driving under the influence"?

Whatever...

Should just have a breathalazyer instead of the stupid questions and tests. Gets things done much quicker over here.
