Just wanted to know what to expect there? I'll be staying at a Beach Resort... not sure which yet, but definitely a Beach Resort.

Wondering if anyone knew what is the preferred method of transport? Exchange Rate? Safe? Pictures if anyone has any.

Thank You in advance,
Andre

well my ex is from there. (good times ) but it is safe to say that the dollar is king, they got buses-taxis (you should ask the hotel what they recommend i.e. charter) and no matter were u go in the world, if u dont act cocky, or with a chip in the shoulder, you'll be fine.

also wikipedia it. and/or google it.

Yeah... I've been researching but I figured I'd ask here.

Some people say to stay on the resort and others say that they've gone out to local restaurants to eat... so figured I'd get more opnions... lol.

I went there about 8 years ago and it was beautiful. We never had a problem with the population or with any of the food. Hopefully you'll be able to see the turtles lay their eggs.

definately go to restaurants and enjoy the local food.
the things that you can do are limited by the location you go to,
also by the things you want to do lk, obiesly.
she did told me that there is a lot of good photography to take and that there a lot of outdoor stuf to do.

I went to Costa Rica earlier in the year with my wife. I have a few pictures here:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/oliverjsmith/page2/ <-- View from our room, butterfly sanctuary, countryside, cows, etc.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/oliverjsmith/page3/ <-- Waterfalls, monkeys, etc.

The buses would have to be the preferred method of travel. We rented a car the first couple days when we stay in Arenal, but once we went to another town it was all buses from there. The buses were cheap and pretty fast to get from our hotel to town or the beach.

My wife and I were pretty concerned with safety while we were there. Thankfully the only 'crazy' thing that we did was miss our bus stop while going back to the airport. We ended up having to walk a mile or two in the grass next to the freeway. That was a bit scary Thankfully a taxi showed up.

btw, make sure your room has A/C and a TV. We had A/C, but no TV. There's only so much reading you can really do while on vacation.

Btw, we had the most fun repelling down waterfalls and doing the zip lines through the forests.

I went a few years back.

Whitewater Rafting and Zipline canopy tours were great. Imperial is their common beer, and it's good.
Definitely get some beans and rice...it's amazing. Guava Bites can be found in the grocery store; they're basically guava jelly formed into little squares to put on cookies and such. Add some cream cheese and you're addicted. Guava rules!

For transport we had a private driver w/ a van. My buddy's family has a couple of condos there, so they bought a guy a van and he drives them around when they're there.

You'll have a great time.
