Costco Gas
Has anyone tried Costco gas? It's much cheaper ($1.66 vs. $2.00/gal for premium) here in San Diego. However, I only seem to get 80% of the mileage that I get when I fill-up at, let's say, Chevron. Has anyone else noticed this?
Another thing, the octane a Costco is 91, where as at Chevron, it's 92. Could this have something to do with disparity?

I haven't tried Costco gas, but I had a discussion about this with Da Hapa and he knows why the gas is cheaper. I can't remember the thread, but it has to do with how they purchase it. You never really know what brand of gas you're getting at Costco.
The reason the gas is 91 octane has been discussed before. Supposedly, all the gas stations in the So Cal area are switching to 91.

Calc,
Yeah, miles driven divided by gallons. Usually, I go 220 miles on 10 gallons. Lately, on Costco gas, I've been getting about 175 miles per 10 gallons. This has only happened since Costco has been selling gas about $.30 cheaper than other stations the last month or so.
It could be that I am unconsciously lead-footing it, knowing there is a cheap source of fuel available. But still, I'm not the only one who's talked about this...my wife and her co-workers have talked about this topic too. My wife's car usually goes 320 before fill-ups. However, with a couple of recent fill-ups, her car only managed 250 miles before needing a fill-up.
Can I get witness out there?

Another rambling thought. I have heard if you fill up during the day the gas has expanded and you can't put as much in the tank. I guess if you are calculating MPG it doesn't matter, but I did say I was rambling.
