Stupid theory time again!
Now that President Logan is revealed as a villian, does anyone think he had anything to do with the assassination of the previous President? The one that got shot down in Air Force One. Maybe he forced his way into power.
That was last season - maybe this season his term is coming to an end and he is setting up terrorist acts to lengthen his Presidential term or change the law and permanently have him in office since there is a crisis going on. Don't flame me now... Remember how we were at war with terrorists(After 9/11) and Bush's term came to an end. He got re-elected because we were at war and most people didn't want to change the office for the sake of continuum. I remember even here in New York right after 9/11 there was talk to extent Giuliani's term since he was already in office and did such a good job through the crisis.
Anyway just a thought.

I am still trying to make sense of it all from beginning to end. So Logan helped staged the airport hijack? His objective was same as Cumming's: to get troop to station in oil-rich countries? But when the Besoir(sp?) group got a hold of the VX gas and started using it on US, that's outside the scope of Logan's plan, right? Including the attempted assination on Russia's premeire? I am so

From what we understand from last nights episode.. sorry let me rephrase.. what I got from it.
Logan is behind the Terrorist attacks. Basically the mastermind. He has the Former CTU guy working for him.. who has the other guys working for him. Remember in the end only very little people know who the actual mastermind behind something truly is (their identity).
He, for all we know is making it out to see he's the good guy who got put in to this predicament. Attack against Russians, Centox gas being released. So the People of the US are looking at him and the people who work for the president as big heros.. thus maybe elevating his acceptance approval??
You throughout the beginning are lead to beleive that this president is incompetant, can't think for himself.. doesn't have balls or anything (damn he played the stupid card soo well) in the end he's the brains behind the project knowing everything thats happening at all time.
As for Cummings, i don't think he knew DIRECTLY he was working for the President. He worked for the other guy who worked for former CTU guy (can't remember his name) who's working for the president.
