and the first text I get is a guy asking if I'll part out one of the things...

I want to try and sell something that I've had for almost a year, sitting in a box. But I'm afraid I'll get so lowballed it's not even worth it. So I just keep it

 

Only times I've ever attempted to sell anything on CL, the only responses I've gotten were scams.

(Gamecube for $50, got offered $260)

When I gave some things away for free, I got responses immediately and no questions asked.
So just give them a deal they cant lowball...problem solved.

 

It really depends IMO. You got so many Nigerian scams in today's internet I think it would be better if you could somehow just have a bulletin board where you advertise selling stuff in real life. I'd say its generally better to do e-bay. If you are selling a gamecube put it up for 50 offer shipping or local pick up and maybe someone will bid even more than you thought you would get. Its kind of a hassle to ship, but just make the buyer pay for shipping.

 

You'll get lots of "Nigerian diplomats" and stuff.

 

My bro got a business offer 2 years ago when he was like a sophomore in college. A guy invited him to a restaurant to give him a job offer and it was some Nigerian who seriously wanted my brother to help him set up ad servers in Dallas and pay my brother to do it. (My bro is majoring in 3d and stuff)

 

So are you parting out any of that audio equipment?



Seriously though, I hear you. CL has really devolved in the last few years. Nothing but cheap bastards who want professional services and don't want to pay for them.
