Do you get a warrant? The ticket is issued by a private firm, it cannot issue warrants, just try to collect like any other bill.
Ya, AZ should just buy more stock with the mexican drug cartels. Drug Cartel stock > Scameras

If it wasn't sent by registered mail, I'd ignore it. The only proof that they have that you received the ticket is this post

From what I've seen, these tickets, being civil in nature, carry no legal weight. Most municipalities state that if it isn't paid in 30 days you are "admitting guilt" and then you have to pay a late fee, and in some cases the car can be kept from a new registration and bill collectors can be notified.

if you ask me, but I don't have much exp with these types of tickets. I have a friend in AZ who tells me he just refuses to acknowledge the tickets, or the people that come to serve the tickets later, and eventually they go away.

At the very least, I'd wait to be served by a court or law official. I think the fine print on that ticket you have states that you need to a sign a waiver that you don't need to be served and admit guilt. Don't make it easy even if you do pay imo.

These tickets are BS.. they've been beaten in court numerous times, and easily so especially if the camera didn't catch your face

In NC, it didn't matter who was driving, the owner of the car is responsible, at least before the red light cameras were shut down.

Ya, that was insane. Another photo redlight scam I thought was hilarious happened somewhere in Ohio. A local judge ruled that every single cent had to be turned over to schools, and needless to say the cameras were then decomissioned.

It depends on what city/state you're in. In CA you might get a real ticket issued by the court, or you might get a fake ticket issued by the PD (or the private firm) to see if you will "admit guilt" by paying.

A real ticket will have the address/phone number of the court and a specific date when you must appear. A fake ticket will not have a court address and will say something ambiguous like "must be paid within 20 days" - no specific court date is given, and sometimes in fine print it will say "Do not contact the court".

The real ticket will go to warrant if not paid, the fake ticket can be ignored.

This is what I know about CA tickets - I don't know about FL.

We've had those damn speed/redlight cameras here in Albuquerque for a few years now. There is talk around town about them removing them. I hope they do, they are worthless and if anything cause twice as many accidents because of people slamming on the brakes to advoid running the light. Ive seen so many fender benders because of those cameras. FAIL of a idea if you ask me. If i had a 4X4 S id hook a chain up to those cameras and rip them clean outta the ground. At night of course, so they dont catch ya in the act with another
