Default credit card got shut down... randomly

hello all. i was just wondering if you guys had any advice to offer me.

i recently got my WaMu credit card shut down by the bank for no reason. they said that i was bankrupt. i am twenty and i have never filed for bankruptcy.

i went to the bank and talked to someone and they said it'd get fixed by friday.

it is now monday and they still havent done anything about it.

oh yeah, they REFUSE to tell me any details as to how they came to believe that i filed bankruptcy... isnt that ridiculous?!

They reserve the right to shut you down (and they probably gave you the default interest rate of about 30%) due to ANY negative info on the credit bureau whether that info is correct or not.

Usually they say they can only correct it in 6 months.

Capital One is even worse!!!!!!!!!!!!

FYI, Wamu credit is actually Providian, and I've never had a problem with them. They even gave me a huge CLI without me asking.

Capital One has SHADY credit reporting tactics. Beyond that, I'm not sure what else is wrong with them; but everyone I know who has Capital One (including myself) has either already sock drawered the card or are generally unhappy with them. The only reason I keep them around is for age. They don't give automatic CLI's and you have to hassle them to give you one. I'm not even going to bother asking for one seeing as it wouldn't matter given the way they report your credit.

Capital One is the worst about mis-reporting your credit and taking every opportunity to raise your rate to a default rate. Even when they admit to making a misteak they rarely drop your rate back

Wow, I guess I have it easy.

I have a USAA MasterCard and I think my rate's like 10.9%, and I've even been late a few times! I also have Chase, and I'd only say they are OK.
